EGYPTAIR

Country: Egypt
IATA code : MS
This is an old Elag bag. What the rose has to do with airsickness is beyond me. The small silhouette of an aircraft (probably a 707) is reminscent of some old Swissair bags. (Swap from Niek Vermeulen)
Many developing countries aspire to self-sufficiency and domestic bag manufacturers try to make a name for themselves. This example is an early attempt and is made of shiny thin paper and proudly proclaims Made in Egypt.. There is a slightly smaller version in The Vomitorium that has even poorer-quality printing. (Swaps from Guido Debenedetti and Stuart Hickson)
These two bags (circa 1997) show that blue is a better colour to print. However, it was obviously felt that they needed to be more friendly and Welcome was printed in the upper left hand corner. I'm sure they could have found a better way to welcome their passengers though, rather than handing out sick bags. (Donations from Chris Goddard)
A modification to the logo on the bag, so that it represents a tail fin, called for another print run. This time in a lighter shade of blue. Feeling confident the about the new design Egyptair tries multi-colour by adding red and orange to the name and logo. The Made in Egypt label has disappeared from the front but a peek in the side fold reveals that the bag was made by Modern Packaging.Unfortunately the instructions have become a little garbled and say Close by folding Clamp, Shut with tab. In an effort to keep up with the trend for all blue bags they ditched the multi-colour and opted for a white on blue design(Another from Chris Goddard and swap from Manfred Kleber)
